Installation, Uninstallation and Upgrade

Installation

Requirements:

• Sintesi for JIRA is compatible for JIRA Software, JIRA Service Desk and JIRA Core.
• Warning: Sintesi for JIRA is only available for JIRA Cloud (Atlassian Connect). It's not yet available for JIRA Server edition. 

Steps:

1. Go to the homepage of your JIRA instance (the URL should be YOURDOMAIN.attlassian.net)
2. Go to the add-on settings. This menu is available under JIRA Administration menu 
   
   
   
    
3. In the Atlassian marketplace, search for Sintesi for JIRA
   
   
    
4. Click on Free trial.
   The installation process will take few seconds.

Upgrade

Sintesi for JIRA is hosted within Sintesi's datacenters and it's fully supported by Sintesi Limited.

Newer versions of Sintesi for JIRA will be deployed continuously once reach QA green lights.

Uninstallation

Steps:

1. Go to the homepage of your JIRA instance (the URL should be YOURDOMAIN.attlassian.net)
2. Go to the add-on settings. This menu is available under JIRA Administration menu 
   
   
   
   
3. Click on Manage add-ons
4. Click on Sintesi for JIRA to see further options
   
   
   
   
5. Chose Uninstall, to remove completely Sintesi for JIRA, or Disable, to stop temporarily Sintesi for JIRA

Synchronization

In order to provide you with the most recent metrics, Sintesi for JIRA is continuously retrieving all changes from your JIRA and computing metrics.

The standard synchronization process is triggered with 2 minutes.

Metrics

Progress metrics

The progress metrics are computed based on the actual time spent, or user story points, to resolve tasks versus the remaining time spent, or user story points, for unresolved tasks.

The progress metrics will indicate the current achievement status of your project in percentage.

Estimated metrics

The estimated metrics are computed based on the unresolved tasks which don't have any estimation of work in time or user story points.

The estimated metrics is displayed in percentage of all completed or estimated unresolved tasks versus all tasks.

Budget metrics

The budget metrics are computed based on the actual and remaining work of tasks, in time or user story points.

The budget in man-days or user story points are displayed in dedicated metrics. 

Other metrics

Dashboard

After log in to Sintesi for JIRA via your JIRA instance, you will access to the Dashboard.

This Dashboard will display:

• Most essential metrics for your project
  • Progress. To know the current state of project(s)
  • Esimated tasks.  To mitigate risks of budget variances for project(s)
  • Budget in man-days. To know the current forecast budget if you are using worklog in time.
  • Budget in user story points. To know the current forecast budget if you are using estimation in user story points.
• Evolution of your essential metrics compared to 30 days ago or, if you are using Sintesi for JIRA for less than 30 days, the start date of Sintesi for JIRA

This Dashboard has got 2 views:

• Program level - aggregated view of all your projects.
• Project level - view for a specific project.

Detailed reports

Further to the Dashboard, you can view your different metrics over time via the different detailed reports.

Within the detailed reports, you can also amend the date period from which you want to see the evolution of your metrics.

Note: The detailed report will only display data from the date of the installation of Sintesi for JIRA.
